Communication Standards
We realized that while we all love working remotely, wow do humans make things complicated and confusing sometimes π€ͺ. So we have outlined some of the key principles we follow in remote communication:
- I proactive, curious, and explicit in our communication
- I strive for Grace, Empathy, and Understanding
- I respect one another's time, energy, and well being
- I communicate in the most open and logical information channel (generally this is a public slack channel)
- When I communicate something outside of slack (Github, Notion, Figma, etc) I do my best to also followup within Slack.
- I empathetically follow up with grace and accountability
- I seek first to understand, rather than being understood
- I believe that, unless itβs the weekend or I having communicated I am OOO, I will check slack once a day, and react or respond to messages directed towards us, or an @channel I am a part of.
- I optimize the time spent on async communication, by moving spiral convos to Notion for synchronous conversation

Note: Remote communication is an ongoing learning process that takes team member input and iteration β one for all & all for one!
